What constitutes a Puppy Mill?
A Puppy Mill is an inadequate provider of puppies that prioritizes financial gain over the well-being of its animals. Such establishments are not only cruel and inhumane but also often operate in defiance of legal regulations or government standards.
Certified by the USDA
PuppyEcstacy holds a USDA license (cert. # 22-B-0087) and mandates that every breeder within our network also holds a license, unless exempted by the USDA.
Evaluation, Verification, and Assessment of Breeders
PuppyEcstacy employs a data-oriented approach to assess and vet numerous breeders nationwide, forming our unique network of breeder partners dedicated to the well-being of dogs. Our rigorous breeder application process entails interviews, examination of ownership and operational records, onsite visits, criminal background screenings, facility inspections, compliance assessments, scrutiny of government and humanitarian databases, and review of veterinary history.
Exclusive Breeder Evaluation
At PuppyEcstacy, alongside meeting all USDA requirements, we enforce a rigorous, proprietary screening procedure that breeders must successfully complete upon joining, and then annually thereafter. This screening protocol, crafted by our independent Scientific Advisory Board, surpasses national standards to ensure the highest quality standards are met.
Animal Health Care
We mandate that each breeder establishes a formal partnership with a USDA-accredited veterinarian to uphold a Program of Veterinary Care (PVC). Additionally, PuppyEcstacy breeders must adhere to a minimum vaccination and deworming schedule outlined by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) for both puppies and parents.
Accommodation
The accommodations for each dog must adhere to our set standards. We evaluate various factors such as size, materials suitable for pets, visual appeal, air circulation, temperature control, noise level, flooring type, bedding quality, lighting, cleanliness, pest management, outdoor amenities, at PuppyEcstacy.
Staff Training
At PuppyEcstacy, we mandate that every breeder maintains sufficient staffing levels to ensure consistent, high-quality care for both puppies and parents. Additionally, we require breeders to implement thorough and ongoing training programs for all staff members to uphold our standards of excellence.
