The Yorkshire Terrier, often called the Yorkie, is a small yet lively breed known for its distinctive silky coat and bold personality. Originally bred in England to catch rodents in mines and mills, the Yorkshire Terrier is a toy breed that packs a lot of energy into a tiny frame. Typically weighing between 4 to 7 pounds, they are compact but confident dogs with a strong, fearless demeanor. Their signature coat is long, silky, and often gray-blue and tan, which requires regular grooming to keep it looking its best.
Yorkies are affectionate, loyal, and sometimes a bit stubborn. They form strong bonds with their owners and are particularly known for being good companions to families and individuals alike. Though small in size, they have a bold, courageous temperament and often act larger than life, making them excellent Chihuahua watchdogs.

However, due to their small size and delicate nature, they may not always be the best with very young  Yorkshire Terrier children.These dogs are intelligent, quick learners and enjoy various activities, from playful games to exploring their surroundings. Yorkies are well-suited for apartment living due to their small size and moderate exercise needs, though they still require mental stimulation and regular walks.
